Occupational Health and Safety

In line with its vision, mission, values, and strategic objectives, Ziraat Katilim adopts the principle of 'Occupational Health and Safety First.

The Bank considers providing a healthy and safe working environment for its employees, in compliance with international and local standards, among its fundamental responsibilities.

The Bank continuously reviews and improves its practices within the scope of the Occupational Health and Safety Policy and maintains its targets of "zero occupational accidents' and "zero occupational diseases' with this approach. Within the framework of this policy, which covers employees, interns, subcontractors, and visitors, Ziraat Katilim manages risks in all its activities in a proactive manner. The Bank aims to increase employees' awareness of occupational health and safety, strengthen safe working habits, and contribute to the prevention of occupational accidents and diseases.

Operational Inspection, Monitoring, and Board Activities

Ziraat Katilim conducts OHS practices through on-site inspections. Through fieldwork, all implementation, construction, and employee activities are measured by physical inspections. Possible risks, accidents, and threats are identified in advance through on-site controls, and the preventive mechanism is operated effectively. With these activities carried out within the framework of the relevant legislation, the Bank aims to minimize occupational accidents and to prevent occupational diseases by improving the working environment. In addition, in line with employees' requests and expectations, personalized services and practices are developed to support healthy working environment objectives. Ziraat Katilim cooperates with authorized institutions within the scope of emergency plans prepared for possible incidents and organizes specialized trainings. In line with its healthy working environment objectives, the Bank continuously monitors and audits its practices.

The Bank aims to make occupational health and safety inspections more systematic and, as a strategic step, cooperates with an OSGB in 2026 in order to enable more frequent inspections of all branches and to ensure full compliance with legal requirements.

The Bank establishes Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) committees, which include employee representatives, in service buildings with more than 50 employees. As of 2025, a total of 3 OHS committees operate within the Bank, with 12 members serving on these committees, and 2 of these members are employee representatives.

In Ziraat Katilim OHS Committee meetings, developments related to occupational health, accidents, or near-miss incidents that occurred since the previous period are evaluated. Based on these evaluations, the Committee decides on measures to ensure work continuity and safety. Decisions taken are implemented across the Bank without delay.

In 2025, the Ziraat Katilim OHS Committee convened 3 times and monitored the implementation of decisions related to occupational health and safety practices.

Employee Health

The company doctor assigned at the Ziraat Katilim Head Office provides health services to employees and conducts medical examinations for newly recruited personnel. The medical unit carries out risk analysis, monitoring of occupational diseases and chronic conditions, and hygiene controls, and provides first aid training to employees. In addition, in the event of possible occupational accidents and emergencies, on-site first response is provided and the process of transferring the employee to the hospital is managed.

The Bank adapts to technological developments during its operational activities and places employee feedback at the center of its processes. By following technological developments, it continuously improves its existing capabilities and strengthens the OHS culture through stakeholder participation. Verbal and written communication channels are used effectively for this purpose. Within this scope, all employees contact the relevant unit via e-mail regarding any matter concerning the OHS unit, such as risks, suggestions, complaints, and near-miss incidents. The Bank evaluates all notifications carefully and implements the necessary measures and actions without delay. Ziraat Katilim informs its employees instantly about the risks encountered and near-miss incidents.

In 2025, 922 employees completed 4,911 hours of Occupational Health and Safety training, while 90 employees became eligible to receive First Aid certification.

Occupational Health and Safety Trainings

In cooperation with the Human Resources and Traiing units, Ziraat Katilim implements occupational health and safety training programs by considering employees' areas of duty, working environments, and the risks they may be exposed to. The Bank provides face to face occupational health and safety training to all newly recruited employees as part of the orientation process. In addition, classroom-based synchronous training is organized within the scope of orientation programs for employees who take office at the Bank for the first time. Training programs cover all employees regardless of age, gender, title, or position. Ziraat Katilim aims, through these trainings, to raise awareness among employees about protecting their own health and to help them learn individual improvement methods.

The Bank ensures that all employees have access to up-to-date information through mandatory training videos and awareness announcements shared via online channels. Training content includes critical topics such as basic occupational health and safety legislation, first aid, risk awareness, and the use of personal protective equipment. It also covers emergency actions such as fire and earthquake, as well as electrical and ergonomic risks in the office environment. Ziraat Katilim regularly updates training content in line with current legislation and the outputs of risk assessments. Feedback is obtained from employees through surveys conducted after the trainings, and these data are used in improvement processes.

Digitalization in Occupational Health and Safety Processes

Ziraat Katilim operates the award-winning "Smart Building" system at the Head Office by integrating technological systems into its operational processes. Through this system, all electronic components and devices in the building are managed via automation from a central location, and necessary adjustments are carried out quickly and safely.

The Bank consolidates the OHS monitoring and analysis processes carried out across all its branches in Türkiye through a single digital system. For this purpose, it plans to put into operation the application called "Perfective," developed in 2025, as of 2026 in order to ensure that processes are managed through a central automation system. This software, for which the licensing process is ongoing, ensures data integrity by collecting risk analyses, health controls, and related data of all Bank employees and branches in a single center. With this centralized infrastructure, Ziraat Katilim aims to establish a more comprehensive digital inspection mechanism for all OHS processes within the scope of its activity.
